This guy has his finger on the pulse of gaming and his first impressions videos for new games are far more interesting and unbiased than what you see elsewhere. In one of his regular 'Mailbox' instalments yesterday he said something that grabbed my attention ... that Microsoft big-seller Kinect motion controller for the Xbox is 'going the way of the dodo' because motion control is a 'passing phase.' BioWare’s Dragon Age: Inquisition received Game of the Year for 2014 at the Academy of Interactive Arts & Science’s 18th annual D.I.C.E. awards. Xbox 360, the Web was quickly awash in reports and rumors of glitches, breakdowns, and problems that users were said to be experiencing. Three of the main complaints: game lockups, overheating power supplies, and scratched discs. lawsuit, Microsoft's official story (as cited at Kotaku) is that the rate of complaints is "below the 3 percent to 5 percent expected with new electronics products." The Xbox Live Arcade service for the Xbox has been big business for Microsoft, and the company shows no signs of slowing down after the retro-themed summer lineup. Starting next Wednesday, the defacto day for new XBLA releases, another string of original games will hit the system. The most notable release on the docket is next week's debut of Texas Hold 'Em, which will be free to download for its first two days on Xbox Live. After that, it'll run you 800 Microsoft points--roughly 10 real-world dollars.
