VIDEO: Samsung Galaxy S8 vs Apple iPhone 7: Things to consider before choosing After attending the Samsung Galaxy S8 launch event, I put together my best 10 smartphones post for the first part of 2017. The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus were selected for the top spot. Next week the S8 and S8 Plus arrive into the hands of buyers. Reports from Samsung indicate it has already pre-sold more than 728,000 units with a target of 1 million prior to the April 21 launch date. I previously posted eight reasons the Galaxy S8 is good for business. As a supplement to that list, here are 10 reasons to consider the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, check out my full review, instead of the Apple iPhone 7 Plus, which was selected in the second spot of my 10 best smartphones. 1. Display: The Galaxy S8 Plus has a 6.2-inch display with no side bezels and small top and bottom bezels. It is also narrower than the Apple iPhone 7 Plus, which has a 5.5-inch display. Independent testing also shows the Galaxy S8 … [Read more...] about 11 reasons why Samsung’s Galaxy S8 is better than Apple’s iPhone 7 for business

I sometimes think what is going in their minds...is it that they have already created something or on the verge. If they mentioned a particular phone that they think they can surpass, they should mention it. But Samsung and Apple as a whole is going to be hard to beat. posted on 14 Dec 2012, 09:42 0 17. I used to work for Samsung in Best Buy, and they teach you to bash the other brands. In fact, that's all my marketing lead wanted us to do rather then try to gain customers by telling them actual facts about the phone. MorePhonesThanNeeded (Posts: 645; Member since: 23 Oct 2011) Apple still will have to prove to a judge that people are this incompetent that they would think a Galaxy S phone is an iPhone considering that you could only get iPhones from Apples' site or ATT in the U.S. I find that any court or jury would willfully find this to be a viable reason that Apple should get anything. When iPhone was at it's peak people were lining up to buy one, if you went through some back channels and ended up with a Galaxy S then that is your problem for being a sucker. I spent most of this week at Blackberry Live and couldn't help but wonder just how badly the smartphone got off track when everyone got so excited about the iPhone and smartphones switched from primarily being a business tool to an iPod with phone capabilities.Traveling drives this point home for me. After years of refusing to get rid of a 14-inch notebook and often carrying 17-inch notebooks because I need a big screen to work effectively, I've recently been carrying a variety of 11-inch hybrid devices that, though fantastic for taking notes, truly suck when it comes to actually writing something. While the devices I carry are certainly trendy, I have a far harder time getting things done—and I don't see that as a real step in the right direction.News: Upbeat BlackBerry Launches New Q5 Qwerty SmartphoneBlackberry Live drove home the point that shifting the emphasis of phones from productivity to entertainment was stupid. I recently replaced my ancient but trusty Samsung i730, which was running WM 2003, with its shiny new successor, an i760 running WM6. What a difference, both in terms of the hardware and the software. The i730 got the job done. I could connect to Verizon's fast EV-DO network and get my e-mail, look things up on the Web, open Word and Excel documents, and make phone calls. But it was big and clunky and heavy and not very pretty. I had seen the i760 (Figure A) at the Verizon booth at CES last January and wanted it ever since, but the supposed release date "sometime in the summer" came and went with no sign of it.Figure A The Samsung i760 Windows Mobile 6 Professional edition phoneMeanwhile, I envied those folks with sleek, slim phones and for several months, I even seriously considered buying an iPhone. It's pretty, all right. But I just couldn't get past the drawbacks. So I kept waiting. And I have to say it was worth the wait. I got my i760 a week ago and I couldn't be happier with … [Read more...] about 10 reasons why the Samsung i760 is better than the iPhone for business users
