Samsung's Notebook 7 Spin is a stylish, versatile work machine with power to spare. The 2-in-1 notebook's performance is impressive, and its versatile folding design is legitimately useful. Unfortunately, the system's shallow keyboard and lackluster battery life curtail its productivity potential a bit. The Notebook 7 Spin looks and feels great, with a slim profile and a sturdy design. As the name implies, the system's lid spins back a full 360 degrees, letting you use the device like a large tablet. The hybrid design is handy for using touch-screen apps and showing off presentations to a small group, even if the 5 lb. system is a bit too hefty to carry around like a smaller tablet. The system's roomy 15.6-inch display is equally attractive, producing sharp images and vivid colors. Other hardware highlights include a beefy 2.5-GHz Intel Core i7-6500U processor with up to 16GB of RAM, a configuration that makes the heaviest multitasking buttery smooth. You also get an Nvidia … [Read more...] about Samsung Notebook 7 Spin: Is It Good for Business?

Samsung's crazy portable Notebook 9 really impressed us last year with its stunning thin and light design. Now that same laptop is even better for business, with upgraded hardware for faster performance and speedier multitasking. Even more impressive is the fact that the 13-inch version is even lighter than last year's model, despite the performance upgrades. A 15-inch model is also available.I went hands on with the 13-inch Notebook 9 and almost couldn't believe how lightweight it feels. Even more impressive is the fact that it doesn't feel flimsy, despite its barely-there magnesium alloy construction. And it really is light. The notebook weighs in at a featherweight 1.8 lbs., about a half-pound lighter than the 2016 model. The system is actually a bit smaller this year, too, with a slimmer bezel around the display that allows for a smaller overall footprint. It all means that the Notebook 9 should fit easily into your work bag, and you'll barely notice you're carrying it during … [Read more...] about Samsung’s Crazy Portable Notebook 9 is Now Even Lighter
LAS VEGAS - Samsung's Chromebook Pro was built for jotting down notes right on the screen. The 2-in-1 system sports a folding design, a 12.3-inch display with full pressure sensitivity, and a built-in active stylus. It's set to go on sale later this spring, but exact availability and pricing details haven't yet been announced. What really separates the Chromebook Pro from rival systems are its note taking capabilities; no other Chromebook offers a pressure-sensitive display or built-in active pen. In this case, the pen pops out of the system's left edge, letting your start sketching and writing on the screen right away. The Pro's display folds back a full 180 degrees, so you can easily flip back and forth between tablet mode for taking notes and laptop mode for other tasks. I gave the pen a whirl at CES 2017, and found that writing on the Chromebook Pro felt smooth and natural – even though the pen is a bit small. The Chromebook Pro's display has an unusual 3:2 … [Read more...] about Samsung’s New Chromebook Pro is a Note Taking Beast
The Samsung Galaxy Book is a productivity machine with sites on the Microsoft Surface Pro market. But it seems like a lot of companies are ogling that space. The Windows 10 machine comes in a 10.6-inch 1920 x 1280-pixel or 12-inch 2160 x 1440-pixel versions. The smaller model runs an Intel 7th-gen Core m3 CPU with 4GB of RAM, and either a 64GB or 12GB SSD. The larger of the two contains a 7th-gen Core i5 with RAM and storage option. One version is 4GB of RAM and 128GB SSD or 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD. The Galaxy Book features a Pogo keyboard that offers three levels of backlighting. But, because it's not Bluetooth-powered, you'll never need to worry about charging it, unlike some of its detachable competitors.I wish Samsung had included a place to store the included S Pen stylus. It features more than 4000 levels of pressure sensitivity. Artists will love that when you tilt the stylus, it creates brushstrokes of various widths. The S Pen helpfully triggers the company's Air … [Read more...] about Samsung Galaxy Book: Is It Good for Business?
Samsung hopes the new Galaxy S8 and S8+ will put the dubious history of the Galaxy S7 behind it. And it may just pull it off. This Android smartphone is a good looking device, but it’s also pretty smart. It may just be the next essential business tool for your company. The unlocked S8 is available on Amazon and Best Buy, and the same goes for the unlocked S8 Plus. The curved front of the Galaxy S8 is stunning. The S8 measures 5.9 x 2.7 x 0.3 inches and weighs 5.5 ounces, and the S8+ is 6.3 x 2.9 x 0.3 inches and weighs 6.1 ounces. That makes both devices a bit taller and thinner than the S7 and the S7+. Perhaps most useful is that the design is both water and dust resistant. It comes in Midnight Black, Coral Blue, Maple Gold, Orchid Gray and Arctic Silver.A virtual home button replaces the previous physical button, and it provides a bit of haptic feedback so you know your input has registered. We wish the company hadn’t moved the fingerprint reader to the backside, … [Read more...] about Samsung Galaxy S8: Best Business Features

The new Galaxy Note8 is part tablet, part phone and all business. Packed with functionality and designed with users' needs in mind, the Galaxy Note8 may be the most feature-rich phone meets notetaking device out there.Like the Galaxy S8 and S8+, the Galaxy Note8 boasts a borderless Infinity Display and slim design. In fact, the design is so similar that when I saw the S8+ and Note8 side by side, I couldn't tell the difference until I got up close. The Note8 is slightly larger than the Galaxy S8+, but while the spec sheet for the Note8 often lists the display size as 6.3 inches (compared to the S8+ at 6.2 inches) the display on the Note8 is not meaningfully larger. The major design difference between the S8+ and Note8 is the Note8's inclusion of the S Pen, which fits seamlessly into the device and can be easily released, and the unique dual-camera design. Buy a Galaxy Note8 at Verizon.comThe S Pen received some upgrades with the release of the latest Note8, including a finer tip and … [Read more...] about Samsung Galaxy Note8: Best Business Features
Samsung Mobiles recently introduced two new GSM mobile phones here – the Samsung Galaxy S (I9000) and Samsung Wave (S8500).There are lot of features that are common between Wave and Galaxy S. For instance, both are powered by a 1GH processor (ARM Cortex A8), they have a 5 megapixel still camera and both support 720p HD video recording and playback. There’re however some major differences as well. Samsung Galaxy S has a 4” screen while Wave is smaller with has a 3.3” display. Wave has a built-in Flash which is missing in Galaxy.Samsung Galaxy S is powered by Google’s Android OS (it runs 2.1 Éclair version though the latest is 2.2 or Froyo) while Wave runs on BADA, Samsung’s own OS for mobile phones.
