Update, May 1: Following its release in Europe, the red tint fix update is now rolling out to India, Sam Mobile reported. The 426MB patch brings “improved color optimization and convenient color adjustment.” Original post, April 29: After putting out a software fix for the red tint issue on the Galaxy S8 in Korea earlier this week, Samsung is now rolling it out in Europe. Germany, Turkey and the UK are the first countries to get the patch, which adds a slider for making the entire display warmer or cooler. Somehow I doubt there’ll be too many folks wanting a warmer display on their Galaxy S8, but it’s there if you want it. The individual RGB sliders can still be accessed, but they are now found under an Advanced section. That section also includes a Screen edge color balance setting, that allows you to to change the white balance at the edges of the screen, where multiple Galaxy S8 owners noticed the red tint at its worst. According to Samsung, changes may … [Read more...] about Samsung Galaxy S8 red tint fix rolling out in Europe and India (updated)
January 5, 2018 - Written By Mihai Matei A number of Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus models running Android 8.0 Oreo have recently been certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance, hinting that the final Oreo release for last year’s flagships is drawing nearer. Among the certified models are the international, Korean, and European variants, as well as a couple of models for Singapore and India. The unlocked models in the US carrying the model numbers “SM-G950U” and “SM-G955U” also received the same treatment, though no carrier-specific variant has yet been certified by the WFA, presumably because network-bound versions of the phones will need to be subjected to additional approvals from mobile service providers in the country. Samsung began rolling out the first Android 8.0 Oreo beta for the Galaxy S8 series in early November, and over the past couple of months, the OEM pushed the smartphone lineup through several beta stages. In mid-November, the second Oreo … [Read more...] about Samsung Galaxy S8 Models With Android 8.0 Approved By WFA

Clars123 (Posts: 1010; Member since: 16 Mar 2015) the feedback itself isn't adjustable as far as I've seen..but you can adjust the pressure needed to trigger it so you do it more assuredly. In my opinion, it isn't very localized to the active area as I would like but it works better than regular haptics regardless. 27. sgtdisturbed47 (Posts: 863; Member since: 02 Feb 2012) The haptic feedback is certainly better than what it was but it's not nearly as "clicky" as the iPhone feedback. Hopefully the Note 8 will improve upon this. posted on 25 May … [Read more...] about Comments for : Are you missing the mechanical home button on the Samsung Galaxy S8?
As we inch ever closer to a final Android 8.0 Oreo build for the Galaxy S8 and S8+, Samsung continues to refine the beta version with a stream of steady updates. A new version of the Oreo beta — software version ZQLE — is the fifth such update since Samsung launched their beta program back in November. Like the fourth beta that arrived a few weeks ago, the 613MB update merely addresses a laundry list of bug fixes and as such, isn’t all too exciting. It’s already hit India (as the “2nd beta”) and other markets, so be on the lookout if you’re currently enrolled in the beta. To check for the update yourself, simply open the Settings app > Software update > Download updates manually. via SamMobile … [Read more...] about Samsung rolls out Oreo beta 5 to the Galaxy S8
